A pair of series

Ageing and population growth

Dependents per 100 working-age people beside annual population change in percent. One measures the pyramid; the other is the headline pace.

Poland’s Age dependency rose as fertility fell — Population growth turned negative before Net migration noise. Read with Birth rate and Death rate for the natural balance.

Age dependency

People outside working age per 100 of working age. Bank. Pair: [gus-dependency].

The file

Age-dependency ratio, % of working-age population. Bank.

The indicator

SP.POP.DPND. A different age cut than Demographic dependency (GUS).

What the numbers show

If it splits from Demographic dependency (GUS), keep both. That is not “another Poland”.

Population growth

Annual change, %. Poland is negative; the world is slower than the 1960s.

The file

Annual population change, percent. Same geos as Population.

The indicator

SP.POP.GROW mixes births, deaths, and migration. The percent alone does not say which — use Fertility and Net migration.

What the numbers show

Poland is already negative (~−0.3% in 2025). Germany is near zero. The US ~0.5%, the world ~0.9% — slower than the 1960s. Do not confuse this with GDP growth.
